Risso\'s Dolphin Grampus
griseus
This pod of several dozen Risso\'s Dolphins includes \"Casper\" the friendly, ghostly white dolphin. His white color is probably not because he is albino, but because of a similar condition called leucism, that suppresses skin pigmentation. In 2021 I photographed him near shore in Pacific Grove. All dolphins are very social and are almost always seen in a pod.
Photographed at Pacific Grove, CA in Central California on June 23, 2021 with a D7200, 80-400mm VR lens.
